1. Overview of Medical Masks
a. What are medical masks?
- A medical mask is a type of mask used in the medical field to protect users from dust, bacteria, viruses, and harmful substances in the air.
- Medical masks are usually made from non-woven fabric or other fabrics capable of filtering dust, bacteria, and viruses. Medical masks have different protection effectiveness depending on the material and the size of the filtered particles.
- Additionally, medical masks are also used in jobs related to chemicals, environment, food production, shipbuilding, and the mining industry.
b. Types of machinery for producing medical masks
Currently, many types of machinery are used to produce medical masks to meet the increasing demand recently. These types of machinery include:
- Automatic medical mask machine: This machine operates automatically, from cutting fabric, layering fabric, attaching ear loops to packaging, providing high efficiency and productivity.
- Automatic cutting and layering machine: This type of machine only cuts and layers the fabric, while the ear loop attachment and packaging are done by hand.
- Automatic ear loop attachment machine: This machine automatically attaches ear loops to pre-cut and layered masks.
- Medical mask packaging machine: This machine is used to package the produced medical masks.
These types of machinery are commonly used in medical mask factories in Vietnam.
c. Typical medical mask manufacturing companies
Currently, due to the high demand for medical masks amid the COVID-19 pandemic, there are many medical mask manufacturing companies in Vietnam. Here are some typical companies:
