1. Overview of Shampoo
a. What is shampoo?
- Shampoo is a hair care product used to clean hair, removing dirt, sebum, and excess oils from the hair and scalp. It is made from surfactants combined with preservatives, colorants, fragrances, and nutrients to nourish the hair.
- Surfactants in shampoo clean hair by reducing water’s viscosity and helping dirt and oil on the hair to be washed away easily. Nutrients such as proteins, vitamins, and minerals provide nourishment to hair and make it softer and smoother.
- Currently, there are many types of shampoos with different formulas to meet the hair care needs of various hair types and conditions, such as shampoo for dry hair, damaged hair, dandruff, curly hair, straight hair, and many others. Shampoo is a very common and essential product in daily hair care.
- The shampoo market in Vietnam has grown at double-digit rates for several consecutive years. In 2020, this market reached a value of 9.2 trillion VND and is expected to continue growing in the coming years.
- Shampoo manufacturing companies in Vietnam are focusing on researching and developing new products, improving manufacturing technology, and promoting their brands to compete in both domestic and international markets. They are also seeking new and sustainable raw materials to minimize the environmental impact of manufacturing.
b. Types of shampoo manufacturing machinery
The types of machinery used in shampoo manufacturing include:
- Measuring machines: used to measure the necessary ingredients for shampoo, including chemicals, vegetable oils, water, colorants, and fragrances.

b. Training Duration
Initial Occupational Safety Training
- Total training time is at least 24 hours, including assessment time.
- 8 hours of theory on occupational safety policies and legal regulations
- 8 hours of theory on basic occupational safety and hygiene knowledge
- 4 hours of theory on specialized training content
- 2 hours of practical training on specialized content
- 2 hours of theoretical assessment at the end of the course
The training center may schedule multiple sessions depending on workers’ availability. Typically, there are 6 training sessions over 3 days, provided the manufacturing company can arrange continuous learning time.
Periodic Occupational Safety Training
- Before the occupational safety card expires, workers wishing to renew it must undergo periodic occupational safety training, with the periodic training duration being at least 50% of the initial training duration.
Explanation: Total periodic occupational safety training time is at least 12 hours, including assessment time. After completing the training and passing the test, workers will be reissued and extended their occupational safety cards.
