1. Overview of Kim Hoa Industrial Park
a. History of Kim Hoa Industrial Park
Vinh Phuc – Kim Hoa Industrial Park, a challenging and rigorous journey, has witnessed the rise and advancement of an area considered the “red land” of industry. Since its establishment, Kim Hoa has asserted itself as one of the leading multi-sector industrial centers in the Northern region.
In 1998, with approval from the Prime Minister through Decision No. 679/QD-TTg, Kim Hoa opened the door to a bright future for industry in Vinh Phuc. With a planned area of 264.11 ha, the industrial park was divided into two phases, with Phase I covering 50 ha, located in Kim Hoa, Phuc Thang, Thanh Lam communes, Me Linh district, Vinh Phuc province.
Initially, the Agricultural Investment & Marketing Company – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was the project’s investor. However, in 2002, a transfer occurred when the Urban and Industrial Zone Development Investment Corporation (IDICO) – Ministry of Construction became the new investor, through Decision No. 1222/2002/QD-TTG by the Prime Minister.
The peak of Kim Hoa Industrial Park’s development was marked by the merger of part of Me Linh district’s boundary into Hanoi City in 2008. This change created two parts of Kim Hoa: one part within Hanoi that has not been developed, and the remaining boundary within Phuc Thang ward, Phuc Yen town (now Phuc Yen city), Vinh Phuc province.
With its multi-sector and flexible nature, Kim Hoa Industrial Park has attracted notable investment projects from various fields. Building material production, motorcycle manufacturing and repair, equipment production, processing of industrial and food products, mechanical processing, machinery manufacturing, and steel production, along with many other non-polluting industries, have found this an ideal location.

c. Economic potential of Kim Hoa Industrial Park
The strategic geographical location of Kim Hoa also plays an important role in its development. Situated at the intersection of Vinh Phuc and Hanoi capital, it offers convenient transportation connectivity. It is only 34 km from Hanoi city center, 9 km from Noi Bai airport, and easily connected to Phuc Yen city and Vinh Yen city centers. In addition, its proximity to the Hanoi – Lao Cai expressway interchange (10 km away) makes travel to and from Kim Hoa convenient.
Kim Hoa’s infrastructure system is also commendable. Electricity is supplied from the 110/22kV Soc Son substation and the 110kV Dong Anh substation through a 22kV line, ensuring a stable power source for production activities. Clean water is supplied from treated underground water at Quang Minh water treatment plant. The wastewater and drainage system ensures that the environment is not affected by industrial activities.
Internal and external roads are wide and clear, with harmoniously arranged lighting and greenery. The connection with National Highway 2A and the Hanoi – Lao Cai – Kunming railway route also facilitates quick and convenient transportation of goods.
Not only a multi-sector industrial hub, Kim Hoa also contributes significantly to the region’s economic and social development. The industrial park has created thousands of jobs for local people and contributed significantly to Vinh Phuc province’s budget revenue. At the same time, social activities such as healthcare, education, and culture have also been enhanced thanks to Kim Hoa’s sustainable development.
