a. What is occupational safety training?

• The occupational safety training in Nghe An is an intensive training course on occupational safety for those working in industries, construction, manufacturing, and professions with high risks of occupational accidents. This training is organized by Nam Viet’s occupational safety training centers at WHA 1 Industrial Park.
• In this course, trainees are provided with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure safety for themselves and their colleagues during work. The training topics include legal regulations on occupational safety, identifying and assessing potential risks, methods of inspection and maintenance of safety equipment, first aid skills, and handling emergency situations.
• For enterprises, training employees in occupational safety not only enhances their capacity and work efficiency but also ensures compliance with legal safety regulations and minimizes risks of accidents during production and business operations.

b. Training duration

Occupational safety training duration depends on many factors such as job type, industry… However, the exact total training duration of each group is specified in Article 19 of Decree 44/2016/NĐ-CP

• Group 1: 16 hours
• Group 2: 48 hours
• Group 3: 24 hours
• Group 4: 16 hours
• Group 5: 16 hours
• Group 6: 4 hours

c. Training content

Occupational safety training content includes the necessary knowledge and skills to minimize the risk of occupational accidents, ensuring safety for workers and company assets. Specifically, occupational safety training may include the following content:

1. Knowledge of occupational safety law, state and enterprise safety regulations.
2. Knowledge of risks and types of occupational accidents in the workplace.
3. Skills and methods of using personal protective equipment and common protective equipment.
4. Methods to minimize the risk of occupational accidents, ensuring safety during work.
5. How to handle dangerous situations and organize rescue when occupational accidents occur.
6. Knowledge of workplace environmental protection.

In addition, the training content may be adjusted according to each industry and specific working conditions.

d. Occupational safety training certificate

Occupational safety and hygiene training certificate

• The template of the occupational safety and hygiene training certificate is described in detail in Form 08, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/NĐ-CP and is issued to groups 1, 2, 5, 6.
• Accordingly, the certificate has a size of 13 cm x 19 cm, and its outer cover is sky blue.

Occupational safety card

• The occupational safety card template is described in detail in Form 06, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/NĐ-CP
• Group 3 employees will be issued an occupational safety card (commonly referred to as occupational safety certificate for group 3).
• Accordingly, the card size is 60 mm x 90 mm, and the content on the front and back is shown as in the image below.

The employer may issue group 3 safety cards to those who have completed occupational safety training after passing the assessment and having a labor contract between both parties.

Training monitoring book

• The training monitoring book for groups 1, 2, 5, 6 is described in detail in Form 09, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/NĐ-CP.
• The training monitoring book for group 3 is described in detail in Form 10, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/NĐ-CP
• The training monitoring book for group 4 is described in detail in Form 11, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/NĐ-CP
• For group 4, only the monitoring book is issued, without the group 4 safety certificate.
