b. Training Duration
Initial Occupational Safety Training
- Total training time is at least 24 hours, including examination time.
- 8 hours of theory on occupational safety and hygiene policies and laws
- 8 hours of theory on basic occupational safety and hygiene knowledge
- 4 hours of theory on specialized training content
- 2 hours of practical training on specialized content

The safety training center will schedule sessions depending on employee availability. Typically, there are 6 sessions over 3 days, assuming the company can allocate continuous training time.
Periodic Safety Training
- Before the occupational safety card expires, workers seeking renewal must complete a periodic safety training course with at least 50% of the initial training duration.

3. Identifying Hazards Affecting Workers in Umbrella Production
During umbrella production, workers may encounter hazards such as:
- Electrical hazards: As umbrella manufacturing factories use electrical equipment, workers are at risk of electric shock, posing danger to their life and health.
- Liquid hazards: During production, workers may be exposed to liquids such as oil, chemicals, ink, etc., which can irritate the skin, eyes, or respiratory system if inhaled.
- Mechanical hazards: Workers may face dangers from engines or other moving equipment during production, as these can cause serious accidents if not operated or maintained properly.
- Temperature hazards: Umbrella production requires high temperatures, so workers may be exposed to heat hazards, such as burns or explosions.
- Occupational accidents: Workers may experience accidents such as falls, collisions, cuts, punctures, or crushing when working with machinery and equipment in the umbrella factory.
4. Common Occupational Accidents for Workers in Umbrella Production
Common occupational accidents for workers in umbrella production include:
- Falling objects: During production, there may be situations where objects, tools, or materials fall from heights and hit workers.
- Hand cuts or punctures: Risk of cuts or punctures when using cutting, drilling, or planing tools to process materials.
- Crushing or collisions: Risk of being crushed or colliding with machine parts during operation or maintenance.
- Fire or explosion: Risk of fire or explosion during production or maintenance when using electrical tools or flammable liquids.
- Airbag explosion: Risk of explosion when testing airbags or during umbrella production and assembly.
- Falls: Risk of slipping or falling while moving in the factory or operating machinery.
5. Safety Measures in Umbrella Production
Safety measures for participating in umbrella production include:
- Use of protective equipment: Workers must wear protective gear such as helmets, safety glasses, cut-resistant sleeves, safety shoes, masks, and gloves to protect themselves from harmful effects in the workplace.
- Training and safety education: Employees must be trained on occupational safety and work procedures to ensure they understand and correctly apply safety rules during umbrella production.
- Use of safe machinery and equipment: Machines and equipment must be regularly maintained to ensure worker safety. Safety devices such as sensors, automatic shut-off switches, metal detectors, and warning lights should also be used during production.
- Work environment inspection: Environmental factors such as lighting, noise, and temperature must be regularly checked to ensure worker safety.
- Implementation of safety engineering: Safety rules and procedures must be established and applied throughout the umbrella production process to ensure worker safety.
- Ensure workplace hygiene: Umbrella production requires a clean and sanitary environment. Workplace hygiene must be maintained to prevent dust, chemicals, or bacteria from harming workers’ health.
