Occupational safety training duration depends on many factors such as type of work, industry… However, the exact total training time for each group is regulated in Article 19 of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP

• Group 1: 16 hours
• Group 2: 48 hours
• Group 3: 24 hours
• Group 4: 16 hours
• Group 5: 16 hours
• Group 6: 4 hours

c. Training course content

Occupational safety training content includes the necessary knowledge and skills to minimize the risk of labor accidents, ensuring safety for employees and enterprise property. Specifically, occupational safety training may include the following contents:

1. Knowledge of occupational safety law, occupational safety regulations of the state and enterprises.
2. Knowledge of risks and types of labor accidents in the workplace environment.
3. Skills and methods of using personal protective equipment and general protective equipment.
4. Methods of minimizing the risk of labor accidents, ensuring safety during work.
5. How to handle dangerous situations and organize rescue in case of labor accidents.
6. Knowledge of protecting the working environment.

d. Occupational safety training certificate

Occupational safety and hygiene training certificate

• The occupational safety and hygiene training certificate form is specified in Form 08 Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP and is issued to groups 1, 2, 5, 6.
• Accordingly, the certificate form has a size of 13 cm x 19 cm, with its outer cover in sky blue color.

Occupational safety card

• The occupational safety card form is specified in detail in Form 06 Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP
• Group 3 workers will be issued with an occupational safety card (in practice also referred to as Group 3 occupational safety certificate ).
• Accordingly, the card form has a size of 60 mm x 90 mm, with the front and back content shown as in the image below.

The employer may issue a Group 3 safety card to the employee who has completed occupational safety training after passing the assessment and having a labor contract between the two parties.

Training record book

• The training record book form for groups 1, 2, 5, 6 is specified in detail in Form 09 Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• The training record book form for group 3 is specified in detail in Form 10 Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP
• The training record book form for group 4 is specified in detail in Form 11 Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP
• Specifically for group 4, only a training record book is issued without a Group 4 safety certificate.
