1. Overview of Perfume
a. What is Perfume?
- Perfume is a type of cosmetic product used to create a scent on the body or objects, including aromatic essential oils or synthetic compounds. Perfume can be made from natural or artificial ingredients and is produced in many different forms such as spray perfume, gel perfume, solid perfume, and bottled perfume. It is used for various purposes such as creating a personal scent, creating a pleasant aroma in a space, or for treating foul odors in living and industrial spaces.
- In Vietnam, the perfume manufacturing industry is still quite new and not yet fully developed. However, in recent years, this industry has gained attention and investment from many businesses, which has helped Vietnamese perfumes gradually affirm their brand and improve product quality.
- According to a report by the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, there are currently about 60 businesses and individuals manufacturing perfume in Vietnam, mainly concentrated in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. However, most of these businesses are small and medium-sized companies, with little experience in manufacturing and product marketing.
- Furthermore, it is also necessary to mention that Vietnamese perfume businesses are facing many difficulties in accessing the market and finding international partners to expand manufacturing and product marketing.
b. Types of Perfume manufacturing Machinery
The types of machinery for perfume manufacturing include:
- Mixing machine: Used to stir and mix the ingredients of perfume, ensuring a uniform blend.
- Filtering machine: Used to remove impurities and separate different components of the perfume.
- Automatic bottling machine: Used for automatic bottling and capping, which helps save time and increase manufacturing productivity.
- Scent diffusion machine: Used to create fragrance, providing comfort for the manufacturing area.
- Packaging machine: Used to package products and finished goods into boxes, bottles, jars, etc.
Depending on the manufacturing scale and needs, manufacturers can use different types of machinery to optimize the manufacturing process and increase manufacturing efficiency.
c. Typical Perfume Manufacturing Businesses

- Hemera – The first Vietnamese perfume brand manufactured by Hemera Vietnam Co., Ltd.
- D’Orient – A perfume brand manufactured by D’Orient Natural Cosmetics Co., Ltd.
