The duration of occupational safety training depends on many factors such as the type of job, occupation… However, the exact total training duration for each group is specified in Article 19 of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP

• Group 1: 16 hours
• Group 2: 48 hours
• Group 3: 24 hours
• Group 4: 16 hours
• Group 5: 16 hours
• Group 6: 4 hours

c. Content of the training course

d. Occupational safety training certificate

Occupational safety and health training certificate

• The form of the occupational safety and health training certificate is described in detail at form 08 appendix II of decree 44/2016/ND-CP and they are issued for groups 1, 2, 5, 6.
• Accordingly, the certificate form has a size of 13 cm x 19 cm, its outer surface is sky blue.

• The content of the outer surface of the certificate is shown as in the image above.
• The inner surface of the certificate has a white background and the content is shown as below.

Occupational safety card

• The form of the occupational safety card is described in detail at form 06 appendix II of decree 44/2016/ND-CP
• Group 3 workers will be issued an occupational safety card (in practice, also called a Group 3 occupational safety certificate).
• Accordingly, the card form has a size of 60 mm x 90 mm, the content on the front and back is shown as in the image below.

The employer can issue a Group 3 safety card to the person who has been trained in occupational safety after passing the exam and having an employment contract between the two parties.

Tracking log for trained people

• The form of the tracking log for trained people in groups 1, 2, 5, 6 is described in detail at form 09 appendix II of decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• The form of the tracking log for trained people in group 3 is described in detail at form 10 appendix II of decree 44/2016/ND-CP
• The form of the tracking log for trained people in group 4 is described in detail at form 11 appendix II of decree 44/2016/ND-CP
• Only group 4 is issued a tracking log and does not have a Group 4 safety certificate.

• An example of an occupational accident is a cable breaking, and a crane hook falling causing 2 deaths in Binh Phuoc. When workers were operating a crane to lift the hook, the cable suddenly broke, and the hook fell, killing 2 people and injuring 1. On the morning of March 15, 2021, Binh Phuoc Provincial Police, in coordination with Dong Xoai City Police, organized a scene investigation and autopsy to clarify the occupational accident that occurred at a construction site (in Phu My Hamlet, Tan Phu Ward, Dong Xoai City) causing 2 deaths and 1 injury.
