Occupational safety training duration depends on many factors such as type of work, occupation… However, the exact training time for each group is stipulated in Article 19 of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP

• Group 1: 16 hours
• Group 2: 48 hours
• Group 3: 24 hours
• Group 4: 16 hours
• Group 5: 16 hours
• Group 6: 4 hours

c. Content of the training course

Occupational safety training content includes the knowledge and skills necessary to minimize workplace accident risks, ensuring the safety of workers and enterprises’ assets. Specifically, occupational safety training may include the following:

1. Knowledge of occupational safety laws, state and enterprise safety regulations.
2. Knowledge of risks and types of workplace accidents in the working environment.
3. Skills and methods of using personal protective equipment and collective protective equipment.
4. Methods to minimize risks of workplace accidents and ensure safety during work.
5. How to handle dangerous situations and organize rescue when accidents occur.
6. Knowledge of workplace environmental protection.

In addition, the training content can be adjusted to suit each type of occupation and specific working conditions.

d. Certificate of occupational safety training

Certificate of occupational safety and hygiene training

• The sample certificate of occupational safety and hygiene training is specified in Form 08, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP and is issued to groups 1, 2, 5, and 6.
• Accordingly, the certificate has a size of 13 cm x 19 cm, with a sky-blue cover.

• The content on the front side of the certificate is shown as in the image above.
• The inside of the certificate has a white background, with contents displayed as below.

Occupational safety card

• The occupational safety card sample is specified in detail in Form 06, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• Workers in group 3 are issued with an occupational safety card (commonly referred to as a group 3 safety certificate).
• The card size is 60 mm x 90 mm, with contents on the front and back as shown below.

The employer may issue a group 3 safety card to trained employees after they pass the required assessment and when there is a valid labor contract between both parties.

Training monitoring logbook

• The monitoring logbook for groups 1, 2, 5, and 6 is specified in detail in Form 09, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• The monitoring logbook for group 3 is specified in detail in Form 10, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• The monitoring logbook for group 4 is specified in detail in Form 11, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• For group 4, only a monitoring logbook is issued without a group 4 safety certificate.
