1. Overview of Thuy Van Industrial Park
a. History of Thuy Van Industrial Park
Thuy Van – a name that has become a symbol of Vietnam’s industrial development, is one of the oldest and proudest industrial parks in the country. Today, we revisit the formation and development journey of Thuy Van Industrial Park – a remarkable story of innovation and dedication.
Thuy Van Industrial Park was established under Decision No. 836/QD-TTg dated October 7, 1997, by the Prime Minister. Here, a strong aspiration was ignited to build an industrial park meeting international standards, supporting economic growth, and improving the quality of life for residents.
The initial investor was Song Hong Construction Corporation, under the Ministry of Construction. However, to accelerate development and ensure effective management, the investor was changed under Decision No. 740/2001/QD-TTg dated June 18, 2001. The Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Company, under the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Phu Tho province, took over this role.
The strategic geographical location of Thuy Van Industrial Park also contributed to its success. With a planned area of 369 ha, the industrial park is located north of Viet Tri city, just 1 km from National Route 2. This position offers convenient connections to important transport routes, including river ports, the Trans-Asia road, and the Hanoi – Lao Cai railway.
