Workers in manufacturing plants or construction sites are considered vital contributors in the supply chain of goods in Vietnam and globally. Almost everyone depends on their labor and uses what they produce. However, many of them face unsafe, unhealthy, and unfair working conditions daily.
We can design factory work to help workers operate in a safe and comfortable environment, providing them with good incomes so they can live decently and healthily, without harming people or the environment. We have worked with workers, occupational safety and hygiene experts, and employers to identify issues, find solutions, and provide examples of collaboration and collective participation to organize better workplaces. This document set is the result of that research and solution process.
This occupational safety and hygiene guide for workers uses simple and very easy-to-understand language. Regardless of the reader’s education level, profession, or knowledge of occupational safety, they can use this set. This is important because we believe anyone can learn about workplace safety and hygiene, and anyone can help others learn and organize.
This is not a textbook or a practical occupational safety training course. It cannot cover all information about occupational health, nor can it replace the support and expertise of specialists and knowledgeable individuals in this field. The purpose of compiling this occupational safety document set is to equip workers with the knowledge to actively participate in creating a healthier and safer workplace.
