PART II: OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH IN TEA PRODUCTION

I. Occupational safety and health for employees who soften fresh tea leaves by carrying out processes such as withering, firing, or steaming

1. Job characteristics of softening fresh tea leaves by carrying out processes such as withering, firing, or steaming

Softening fresh tea leaves is an extremely delicate process, requiring care and patience from the person performing it. This process often includes steps like withering, firing, and steaming, each playing a crucial role in creating a soft, smooth, and fragrant tea product.

During the withering process, the tea leaves are fermented to stimulate oxidation and make them softer. Next, during the firing process, the tea leaves are dried at a specific temperature and humidity, which helps to soften the leaves and bring out their characteristic flavor. Finally, the steaming process helps to gently soften the tea leaves while retaining their natural flavor and color. All these steps require meticulousness and a deep understanding of the tea production process to create a smooth and rich product.

2. Types of occupational accidents during the process of softening fresh tea leaves by carrying out processes such as withering, firing, or steaming

During the process of softening fresh tea leaves, there are several occupational accident risks that workers need to be aware of. Common types of accidents in processes like withering, firing, and steaming can include burns from direct contact with high temperatures when handling the tea leaves.

Especially during the firing and steaming processes, working near heat equipment can pose a risk of severe burns if safety measures are not followed and personal protective equipment is not used. In addition, handling machinery and equipment can also cause accidents if not done correctly and without adequate training.

To ensure the safety of workers, adhering to occupational safety rules and ensuring regular safety training and inspections are extremely important.

3. Causes of occupational accidents when softening fresh tea leaves by carrying out processes such as withering, firing, or steaming

The causes of occupational accidents during the process of softening fresh tea leaves can often be linked to several different factors. One of the main causes is a lack of attention and observation when performing processes like withering, firing, and steaming. When working in a high-temperature environment and near heat equipment, a lapse in concentration can lead to severe burn accidents or even life-threatening situations.

Another cause is a lack of knowledge and skills in occupational safety. If workers are not adequately trained on how to use equipment, personal protective gear, and safety measures, they may not recognize potential hazards and may not know how to react in a dangerous situation.

In addition, the use of unsafe equipment and machinery is also a significant cause. Old equipment that is not regularly maintained can cause unexpected incidents. Furthermore, failure to follow safety rules when operating machinery can also lead to serious accidents.

4. Measures to prevent occupational accidents when softening fresh tea leaves by carrying out processes such as withering, firing, or steaming

To prevent occupational accidents when softening fresh tea leaves, implementing safety measures is extremely important. First and foremost is occupational safety training for all employees involved in the production process. This training not only provides them with knowledge about potential risks and preventive measures but also helps them recognize and respond to dangerous situations effectively.

Second, the use of personal protective equipment is an important measure to protect employees from potential risks. Ensure that all employees are fully and properly equipped with helmets, safety glasses, gloves, heat-resistant jackets, and safety shoes.

Third, maintain and regularly inspect equipment and machinery to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Regular maintenance helps to detect problems early and avoid dangerous situations.

Finally, create a safe work environment by promoting safety awareness and conducting regular inspections of safety measures. At the same time, create conditions for employees to provide opinions and suggestions to improve working conditions and minimize the risk of accidents.

Occupational safety regulations when softening fresh tea leaves are an important part of the production process to ensure the safety of employees. According to these regulations, everyone involved in the production process must adhere to certain safety measures. First, the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. This includes wearing safety glasses to protect the eyes from dust and liquids, a helmet to protect the head from falling objects, and heat-insulating gloves to avoid burns when in contact with high temperatures.

In addition, maintaining a clean and tidy work environment is also an important part of the safety regulations. Ensure that work areas are arranged and laid out in a reasonable manner, avoiding the creation of risks of incidents or accidents.

Furthermore, employees need to be trained on how to use equipment and machinery safely. They need to have a clear understanding of the potential risks and preventive measures when working near heat equipment.

6. Handling emergency occupational accidents when softening fresh tea leaves by carrying out processes such as withering, firing, or steaming

Handling an emergency occupational accident during the process of softening fresh tea leaves requires quick thinking and rescue skills from the employees. First and foremost, the worker must ensure their own safety and that of those around them by immediately turning off the heat source or the equipment causing the danger. Then, they need to assess the situation and check on the victim to determine the severity of the injury and provide immediate first aid.

When providing first aid, calling for emergency services or sending the victim to the nearest medical facility is extremely important. At the same time, providing essential first aid such as treating the wound, cooling the burn, or performing rescue breathing should be done in a timely manner.

In addition, reporting the incident to management is an important step to ensure that preventive measures can be taken and that the accident does not recur in the future.

II. Occupational safety and health for employees rolling fresh tea leaves after softening to create a characteristic flavor and aroma

1. Job characteristics of rolling fresh tea leaves after softening to create a characteristic flavor and aroma

In the process of rolling fresh tea leaves to create their characteristic flavor and aroma, there are several important job characteristics to note. First, selecting the appropriate tea leaves is the most crucial step. The tea leaves must be chosen from high-quality tea gardens and harvested at the best time to ensure optimal flavor. Then, the process of softening the tea leaves is the next important step. The leaves are processed by withering, steaming, or light rolling to soften them and create elasticity.

This process is extremely important as it directly affects the texture and flavor of the tea. Finally, the job of rolling the tea leaves involves shaping and compacting them into uniformly shaped and aesthetically pleasing tea pellets. This process requires care and technique to ensure that each tea pellet has a uniform compression, which helps to optimize the flavor extraction process when brewing the tea. In summary, the process of rolling fresh tea leaves is not just a simple job but also an art that requires meticulousness and technique.
