Occupational safety training duration depends on many factors such as the type of work, industry… However, the exact training duration of each group is stipulated in Article 19 of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP

• Group 1: 16 hours
• Group 2: 48 hours
• Group 3: 24 hours
• Group 4: 16 hours
• Group 5: 16 hours
• Group 6: 4 hours

c. Training content

Occupational safety training content includes the knowledge and skills necessary to minimize the risk of occupational accidents and ensure the safety of workers and company assets. Specifically, occupational safety training may include the following content:

1. Knowledge of occupational safety law, occupational safety regulations of the state and enterprises.
2. Knowledge of risks and types of occupational accidents in the working environment.
3. Skills and methods of using personal protective equipment and collective protective equipment.
4. Methods to minimize the risk of occupational accidents and ensure safety during work.
5. How to handle dangerous situations and how to organize rescue when occupational accidents occur.
6. Knowledge of workplace environmental protection.

In addition, the training content can be adjusted to suit each type of industry and specific working conditions.

d. Occupational safety training certificate

Occupational safety and hygiene training certificate

• The sample occupational safety and hygiene training certificate is specified in Form 08, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP and is issued to groups 1, 2, 5, and 6.
• Accordingly, the certificate has a size of 13 cm x 19 cm, with a sky-blue cover.

Occupational safety card

• The sample occupational safety card is specified in detail in Form 06, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• Group 3 employees will be issued an occupational safety card (commonly known as occupational safety certificate for group 3).
• Accordingly, the card has a size of 60 mm x 90 mm, and the content on the front and back sides is shown in the picture below.

The employer may issue a group 3 safety card to the employee after the employee has passed the required training assessment and there is a labor contract between the two parties.

Training monitoring book

• The training monitoring book for groups 1, 2, 5, and 6 is specified in detail in Form 09, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• The training monitoring book for group 3 is specified in detail in Form 10, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• The training monitoring book for group 4 is specified in detail in Form 11, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• For group 4, only a monitoring book is issued, not a group 4 safety certificate.
• The content in the group 4 monitoring book is shown in the picture below.
