b. Training duration
Occupational safety training duration depends on multiple factors such as job type and industry. However, the exact total duration for each group is specified in Article 19 of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP
- Group 1: 16 hours
- Group 2: 48 hours
- Group 3: 24 hours
- Group 4: 16 hours
- Group 5: 16 hours
- Group 6: 4 hours
c. Training content
Occupational safety training content includes the knowledge and skills necessary to minimize workplace accident risks, ensuring safety for workers and the company’s property. Specifically, the training may include the following content:
- Knowledge of occupational safety laws and regulations of the government and enterprises.
- Knowledge of hazards and types of workplace accidents.
- Skills and methods to use personal protective equipment and general safety equipment.
- Methods to minimize workplace accident risks and ensure safety during work.
- How to handle dangerous situations and organize rescue in case of workplace accidents.
- Knowledge about protecting the work environment.
Additionally, training content may be adjusted according to the specific industry and working conditions.
d. Occupational safety training certificate
Occupational safety and hygiene training certificate
- The certificate template is described in Form 08, Appendix II, Decree 44/2016/ND-CP, and is issued for groups 1, 2, 5, and 6.
- The certificate measures 13 cm x 19 cm, with a sky-blue cover.

- The occupational safety card template is described in detail in Form 06, Appendix II, Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
- Workers in group 3 will be issued an Occupational Safety Card (commonly called a Group 3 Occupational Safety Certificate).
- The card measures 60 mm x 90 mm, with front and back content shown below.

The employer may issue a Group 3 Occupational Safety Card to the trained worker after successful assessment and if there is a labor contract between the two parties.

3. Employment situation in Lai Chau
- Employment in Lai Chau mainly focuses on agriculture and tourism. According to the Lai Chau Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, as of June 2021, the unemployment rate in this locality was 1.04%, relatively low compared to some other provinces in the Northwest region.
- Agriculture occupies a large proportion of Lai Chau’s economy, especially products such as rice, cashew, tea, sugarcane, corn, cassava, sweet potatoes, etc. Additionally, tourism is a potential sector in Lai Chau, with destinations such as the Lao Cai – Lai Chau Plateau, Fansipan Mountain, and Northwest ecological tourist areas.
