a. What is occupational safety training?

• The occupational safety training course in Thua Thien Hue is an intensive training program on occupational safety for those working in industries, construction, manufacturing, and professions with high risks of workplace accidents. This training course is organized by Nam Viet’s occupational safety training centers at Tu Ha Industrial Zone.
• In this course, trainees will be provided with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure safety for themselves and colleagues during work. The training topics include legal regulations on occupational safety, identification and assessment of potential risks, methods of inspection and maintenance of safety equipment, first aid skills, and handling emergencies.

Occupational safety training duration depends on many factors such as type of work, industry… However, the exact training duration for each group is regulated in Article 19 of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP

• Group 1: 16 hours
• Group 2: 48 hours
• Group 3: 24 hours
• Group 4: 16 hours
• Group 5: 16 hours
• Group 6: 4 hours

c. Training content

Occupational safety training content includes the essential knowledge and skills to minimize the risk of workplace accidents, ensuring safety for workers and company assets. Specifically, the occupational safety training may include the following:

1. Knowledge of labor safety laws, state and company safety regulations.
2. Knowledge of risks and types of workplace accidents.
3. Skills and methods of using personal protective equipment and collective protection equipment.
4. Methods to minimize workplace accident risks and ensure safety during work.
5. Ways to handle dangerous situations and organize rescue operations in case of accidents.
6. Knowledge of workplace environmental protection.

Additionally, training content can be adjusted to suit specific industries and working conditions.

d. Occupational safety training certificate

Occupational safety and hygiene training certificate

• The occupational safety and hygiene training certificate sample is specified in Form 08, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP and is issued to groups 1, 2, 5, and 6.
• Accordingly, the certificate measures 13 cm x 19 cm, with its outer cover in sky blue color.

• The inner side of the certificate has a white background, and the content is shown as in the image below.

Occupational safety card

• The occupational safety card sample is specified in detail in Form 06, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• Workers in group 3 will be issued an occupational safety card (commonly referred to as occupational safety certificate for group 3).
• Accordingly, the card measures 60 mm x 90 mm, with the content on the front and back shown as in the image below.

The employer may issue group 3 safety cards to those who have completed occupational safety training after passing the assessment and having a labor contract between the two parties.

Training record book

• The training record book for groups 1, 2, 5, 6 is specified in detail in Form 09, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• The training record book for group 3 is specified in detail in Form 10, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• The training record book for group 4 is specified in detail in Form 11, Appendix II of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP.
• For group 4, only the training record book is issued, without a group 4 safety certificate.
• The content in the training record book for group 4 is shown as in the image below.
