Occupational Safety Training for Group 4

1. What is Group 4 Occupational Safety Training

• Group 4 Occupational Safety Training is a course designed to provide basic knowledge about occupational safety and practical training directly at the workplace. Accordingly, Group 4 participants are individuals who do not belong to groups 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, including apprentices, trainees, probationary employees working for the employer, and workers without positions who are not involved in safety tasks and work under normal, non-hazardous conditions.
• The occupational safety training course will help Group 4 participants acquire basic knowledge about hazards, harmful factors, and how to recognize safety signs and instructions at the workplace.

2. Duration of Group 4 Occupational Safety Training

a. Initial Group 4 Safety Training Duration

• Total training time is at least 16 hours, including assessment time.
• 8 hours of theoretical study on basic occupational safety and hygiene knowledge
• 6 hours of practical training at the workplace
• 2 hours for the theoretical test at the end of the course

The safety training center will schedule the training sessions according to the availability of factory employees. Typically, there will be 4 training sessions for Group 4, with the course lasting 2 days, provided the manufacturing company can allocate continuous training time.

b. Periodic Group 4 Safety Training Duration

• Before the occupational safety training certificate expires, employees who want a renewal must undergo a periodic occupational safety training with a periodic training duration of at least 50% of the initial training duration.
• This means the total duration of periodic Group 4 training is at least 8 hours, including assessment time. Upon completion of the periodic training and passing the test, employees will be reissued and extended with the Group 4 Occupational Safety Training Record Book.

• After completing the Group 4 Occupational Safety Training course and passing the test, employees will be issued a Group 4 Occupational Safety Training Record Book
• The record book clearly displays information such as: full name, year of birth, job, workplace, training duration, and results. It also includes the red stamp and signature confirming the completion of the training course by the General Director of An Toan Nam Viet Safety and Environmental Monitoring Training Co., Ltd.

6. Disadvantages of Not Receiving Group 4 Occupational Safety Training

• Group 4 employees will not have basic knowledge of hazards, harmful factors, and preventive measures.
• They will not know how to practice safe working procedures, handle incidents, or perform basic first aid.
• Your business risks legal violations under occupational safety laws if employing workers who have not received occupational safety training. Penalties are specified in Clause 1 of Article 24 Decree 28/2020/ND-CP as follows:
  • From 5,000,000 VND to 10,000,000 VND for violations involving 1 to 10 people
  • From 10,000,000 VND to 20,000,000 VND for violations involving 11 to 50 people
  • From 20,000,000 VND to 30,000,000 VND for violations involving 51 to 100 people
  • From 30,000,000 VND to 40,000,000 VND for violations involving 101 to 300 people
  • From 40,000,000 VND to 50,000,000 VND for violations involving 301 people or more
