Group 1 Occupational Safety Training is a course that provides safety knowledge, helping Group 1 participants plan, organize, and manage the implementation of regulations as well as define responsibilities and authority regarding occupational safety and hygiene.
1. What is Group 1 Occupational Safety Training?
- Occupational safety training for group 1 is a course designed to provide safety knowledge for trainees in group 1. Accordingly, the group 1 subjects include those holding managerial positions (leaders) who do not directly participate in manufacturing work, such as: General Director, Deputy General Director, Heads or Deputy Heads of Departments (Divisions) of the Company or branches; responsible for departments: Manufacturing – Business – Technical.
- The occupational safety training course will help group 1 participants plan, organize, manage, implement regulations, and define responsibilities and authority regarding occupational safety and hygiene work.

2. Duration of Group 1 Occupational Safety Training
a. Initial training duration for Group 1
- The total training time is at least 16 hours, including the testing time.
- 8 hours of theory on the system of policies and laws regarding occupational safety and hygiene
- 7 hours of theory on occupational safety and hygiene practices
- 1 hour of theoretical test at the end of the training course
The safety training center will arrange the schedule into multiple sessions depending on the availability of employees. Usually, there will be 4 training sessions for group 1, with 2 sessions per day, provided that the manufacturing enterprise can allocate continuous learning time.
b. Periodic training duration for Group 1
Before the occupational safety training certificate expires, employees who want to renew it must undergo a periodic occupational safety training course, with a periodic training duration of at least 50% of the initial training duration.
This means the total periodic training duration for group 1 is at least 8 hours, including the testing time. Upon completing the periodic training and passing the test, employees will be reissued and have their Group 1 occupational safety training certificate extended.

4. Group 1 Occupational Safety Training Documentation
After completing the group 1 occupational safety training and passing the test, employees will be issued a certificate of occupational safety training along with full documentation related to the group 1 safety training course:
- Training contract
- Value-added tax invoice
- Decision to open the occupational safety and hygiene training course
- Attendance list
- List of students completing the training course
- Decision recognizing training results
- Logbook of issued occupational safety and hygiene training certificates
- Occupational safety and hygiene training certificate
The certificate clearly shows information such as full name, gender, date of birth, nationality, ID card or citizen identification number, position, and working unit. It also includes training duration, red stamp, and signature confirming completion of the training by the General Director of An Toan Nam Viet Training and Environmental Monitoring Co., Ltd.

- Lack of skills in organizing the apparatus, managing, and implementing safety and hygiene regulations at the workplace.
- The chance of being selected for positions in group 1 will be significantly reduced.
- Moreover, lacking practical safety and hygiene management skills in leading a company will cause operational difficulties.
- Enterprises risk violating occupational safety laws if employing workers who have not received safety training. The specific penalties are defined in Clause 1 of Article 24 of Decree 28/2020/ND-CP as follows:
- From 5,000,000 VND to 10,000,000 VND for violations involving 1 to 10 people
- From 10,000,000 VND to 20,000,000 VND for violations involving 11 to 50 people
- From 20,000,000 VND to 30,000,000 VND for violations involving 51 to 100 people
- From 30,000,000 VND to 40,000,000 VND for violations involving 101 to 300 people
- From 40,000,000 VND to 50,000,000 VND for violations involving 301 people or more
